Operating principle
The aluminium back plate mounted securely to the radiator transfers the heat from the radiator to the measuring ampoule inside the heat cost allocator heating up the fluid inside the ampoule. This results in the evaporation of part of the liquid in the ampoule, the amount depending on the duration and the intensity of the exposure to heat. The level of liquid at the end of the accounting period is then unambiguously determined using the double unit scale. The reading obtained in this way provides the basis for the consumption-based billing of heating costs by the Minol Messtechnik billing service. The pre-year measuring ampoule remaining in the meter secures the readings for a later check.
